Belmont Stakes

If there’s one thing you must watch this weekend, it’s the Belmont Stakes. Big Brown is going for the First Triple Crown in 30 years. I had the pleasure of seeing Big Brown run the perfect race at the Preakness. If he wins, it will revitalize a sport that need revitalizing. But if there’s another reason to watch, perhaps the most important reason, is of Big Brown’s Jockey, Kent Desormeaux. You can read his story here. It’s always nice to root for the underdog, especially one with a tale as compelling as Desormeaux’s. Watch not only for horse racing, not only for history, but for anyone who ever thought they could achieve what they wanted. Watch for Kent Desormeaux.
